People On The Trip

Trip Report

Started at WV, went up the range with ice increasing significantly as we climbed. Put on spikes just before Wittenberg, made our way over and up Cornell (the crack was challenging today with ice in the crux). The descent to slide was difficult, and we ended up in crampons up and over slide (until much lower on the other side). Rather than dealing with the high elevation ice, we decided to take the valley route back. Taking the old tote road saved some road walk, mileage, and elevation. The climb out of the creek bed was most unwelcome at the end of a fairly long day. Made it to the car just after dark.
