People On The Trip

Trip Report

We were lucky to find the trail ahead of us broken first thing in the morning. There was a lot of unconsolidated snow for us to contend with (so much that I wore my tails most of the day). This hike was a slog until it gets steep (where we finally caught the other party). From there we continued to climb hard to the col where we took a break before pushing for the summit.

This was our least windy summit and we were able to enjoy some views of Katahdin on the horizon. We dropped back down to the col where we enjoyed some lunch, followed by climbing west peak. The descent was tough on me as I kept falling, plus I lost both of my pole baskets and bent one of my pole sections.

The Good and The Bad

The Good:

Good views on the summit

The Bad:

Busting up my poles and being grumpy
