People On The Trip

Trip Report

Made quick work of getting to the upper trail junction (in microspikes). Shortly after the climb began we went to snowshoes just for the televators. A few hours later we were at the summit of east and we just kept walking. We did meet 1 group coming down who had slept at the summit of east, it looked like a really cool idea (and at least that is still legal in the whites). We were at the summit of the main peak in what seemed like no time. We enjoyed summit views and ate some food before heading back down. On the way down the east peak we ran into throngs of people who got late starts. Overall it was a wonderful day, we made it car-to-car in 4:45 including a half hour summit break.

The Good and The Bad

The Good:

Good views
Fast climb (like being on a stairstepper)

The Bad:

The Drive

Up to lincoln from Keene, drove home via sawyer river road, got my car airborne on a frost heave
