People On The Trip

Trip Report

Another boot breaking in trip. This time we went up to the southern presis. The forecast was nice again (still mild temps in the 20-30s). No real snow on the ground. Lots of people out that day.

Made quick work of the hike (especially with mountaineering boots) sections between pierce and eisenhauer were challenging on bare rock with the stiff boots.

Met a lot of people out. barebooted until descent of crawford below pierce. Used microspikes most of the way back to the parking lot. Icy snow turned to snowy mud in the afternoon.

Views were ok, but the cloud ceiling was at ~5500' so we didn't have amazing views (but they were much better than being in the cloud on moosilauke)

The Good and The Bad

The Good:

Making good time
Good footing on the crawford path

The Bad:

Views were meh
Mud on the way down

The Drive

Went to dinner Moat Brewery and did some good shopping at ragged and IME. Drive home seemed to take forever because we were tired
