People On The Trip

Trip Report

     Garfield:

      10 Miles, 3k feet gain

This hike was super easy compared to the amount of elevation gain. The whole trip was on an old tractor road that stayed at a nice easy grade the whole way to the ridge. Unfortunately when we got to the summit it was completely socked in and we didn't really get any views.

      Carrigain:

      10 Miles 3.25k feet gain

This trip was the opposite from the last one. It starts off on a tractor road, doesn't get much gain in the first ~2 miles, then has to climb all 3k feet gain in the last 3 miles (before a traverse on the ridge that is at least a half mile). Luckily the trail was switchbacked but unfortunately our legs were pretty tired from hiking the day before. Also the distance from the ridge to the summit tower was surprisingly longer than it seemed.

The Good and The Bad

The Good:

The easy hiking on garfield
Good trail conditions
switchbacked trails

The Bad:

Being tired for Carrigain
Cloudy views or no views

The Drive

I put about 900 miles on the car this weekend between hiking and shopping
