People On The Trip

Trip Report

We were to wake up early and head up, but neither of us wanted to wake up...so we shut the alarm off and eventually woke up on our own [Mike at 8:30ish, Meghan at 9:30ish]. Meghan came downstairs dressed in her long underwear, asking to head up. By 10:30 or so, we were on the road, and at the trail head around 2 [with sleds attached to the packs]. We passed several people on their way down. It was a quick trip to the trail junction. We turned left to get up to Cascade - windiest day Meghan has ever encountered on a summit, and definitely not her favorite conditions. We made it to the summit [barely], took a quick picture, and practically ran down back into the safety of the trees and onto Porter. A couple of quick pictures there, and we were back at the junction in no time. We brought out the sleds and cranked down the mountain - highly reccomend sledding on this trail, just watch out for the trees! We were back out to the car before dark [to find a note complimenting us on our early start]
